My Students

We sit on a cold, hard tile floor!! During our hands on math workshop my students are sitting on the gritty, cold tile floor while playing math games with their classmates.

I have great students!

They love school and try hard! They are eager to please and crave knowledge. We love to have fun and make it a point to do so everyday. We are a regular public school in rural Alabama with a range of socioeconomic levels. My classroom is fully inclusive, meaning my students range from children with special to gifted children.

My Project

I am eager to get this amazing brilliantly, vivid colored classroom carpet. It is a 6x12 carpet that is an interactive calendar. It lists the days of the week across the top and each day is a different color. It comes with carpet squares with numbers 1-31 and holidays. These carpet squares will be used each month to by my students to build a calendar. We can then discuss time and how time passes using the calendar. This will give them a concrete foundation and understanding of the calendar. We will also use the calendar during math workshop daily as a meeting place and an area to play math games.
