This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students care about our environment and being from the Semi-Arrid region of Southeast NM the ocean is a much dreamed of environment. The Ocean is one of our units of study and we are wanting to conclude it with turning an ancillary room into a walk-through aquarium. We will create a pathway through stands of ocean coral on the floor and fish(jelly fish, groupers, dolphins, etc.), and seaweed hanging from nylon string from the ceiling. We will paint the fish with neon glow-in-the-dark paint and have black lights along with a couple of bubble machines spaced throughout to create a feeling like you are walking under water. We will have the whole school take a "Fieldtrip" by touring our 3-D Aquarium.
