This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a teacher and former accountant, I would like to inspire my students to want to learn things related to STEM. Through these supplies, the children can learn about physics, vehicles, shapes, magnetism, hypotheses, and how to create using a sand and water table.
According to a studies conducted in 2017 and 2019 "STEM education appears to be an approach that improves individuals’ knowledge and experience (Günşen, Fazlıoğlu & Bayır, 2017), predispose them to solve problems by making interdisciplinary connections for situations they encounter with in their daily lives (Tosmur-Bayazıt et al 2018) and enhances their creativity (Tozlu et al 2019)".
Currently the students do not have many of the supplies requested including a working sand and water table. Our sand and water table were damaged years ago and we have been unable to replace it. The majority of our students are Hispanic and African American who come from low-income families who are unable to provide adequate supplies at home and from home. Please help me give my children an exciting new STEM area.
