This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come to school eager to learn. However, sometimes they come with burdens from home that weigh them down and they can't focus or lack energy to do work.

With a calming area, my students will turn that frown upside down.

By having an area in my classroom, where my students can go to reflect or reenergize, they will be able to focus on the task at hand. They can use the sensory toys to distract them from their worries but help them focus to relax and enjoy being in school. They can use the fidget toys while at their desk to help them focus without taking the attention of others.

A calming area would be ideal and welcomed in my classroom.
