Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My classroom consists of low-income students who due to the impacts of COVID-19, many have struggled to perform at their academic grade level. In my classroom, it is my hope that I can teach my students strategies and skills that they can use daily to succeed. I hope to provide them with a safe space to learn and to teach them social-emotional strategies that many have encountered in light of COVID-19 . The hands on money kits will be used when we begin our journey learning about counting money. The round floor cushions will provide students with flexible seating options. The tote bags will be used for students to travel with their materials from class to class. The laundry basket will be used to store the tote bags when they are not being used. The peppermint oil will be used for our classroom oil diffusor which provides a calming scent. The wireless bluetooth speaker will be used for our daily read alouds. The photo cases and mesh bags will be used for storage of materials for stations. The Rust-Oleum spray will be used to provide a matte finish on all laminated materials hanging on the classroom wall making it easier for students to see. The stamps will be used when grading papers.
Providing my students with materials and supplies for our classroom will give them the opportunity to learn everyday.
These materials that I am asking for will allow for an organized classroom which will benefit my students by providing them with easy to access materials when learning a new objective or skill. I believe every child has the right to learn and that learning should be fun.
