My Students
All of my students will be remote learners in unprecedented times. They have already had their worlds turned upside down in March, overnight without any warning that schools would be closed. Now that we are in a new school year, I want to provide them with all the resources they need to learn effectively at home.
My students come from diverse backgrounds including various socioeconomic statuses.
I don't want to bombard my families with purchasing extra supplies, especially when I know that they are struggling. Nonetheless, I know how crucial these supplies will be for learning from home.
My students are eager learners and want to learn at school, just as teachers want to be teaching from school, but that is not possible with our current pandemic.
My Project
My students will be learning remotely full-time from home. Since they already had some practice with this at the end of last school year, I know they need some basic supplies to help them learn effectively at home.
Instead of trying to read their work from their composition notebooks, they can easily show me their work on dry-erase boards.
Instead of me modeling how to add 17+9 from my screen, they can use their math manipulatives, like cubes or counters to try it for themselves at home. Students learn better when they do the work themselves and I'm there to guide them, instead of just watching me do the math.
