Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our best learning is learning that we do in community! Games, small group activities, and whole class discussions are essential opportunities for students to talk about their math thinking and build on each other's thinking.
These tools will support math activities and discussions for our school's 2nd and 3rd graders.
For example, a student sharing about their addition problem solving strategy would use the magnetic base 10 blocks to show their strategy step by step for the whole class. As the student shares, the rest of the class may predict or reason about their strategy, and possibly revise their own thinking.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
