Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is located in a large urban city. Our teachers and staff provide a safe fun learning environment. There are many experiences for all to have, but many students say within our area. Parents are hardworking, caring and involved. Our school is Title 1, forty percent English Learner, and all kids receive free lunch.

My students are creative and come to school everyday ready to learn.

We are a bilingual English/Spanish class. Kids love readers and writer’s workshop as well as anything to do with math and science. We work on projects through the year that incorporate classroom presentations and parent participation.

My Project

These pens will provide my students with a completely new way of expressing what they are learning in science, math and art. In science, students can create 3d models of an animals life cycle. In math we can construct 3 dimensional figures and structures. In art we can construct art pieces that reflect line, shape and color. The possibilities are endless. Unless I bring this technology to the classroom many students will not have an opportunity to be able to use state of the art equipment at home. I hope that this sparks students interests and continues to push them to explore new ways to express their knowledge.
