My Students

The school I teach in is a diverse one. In my 8th grade science classroom, I have students from a wide array of both socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. One of the things that tie them together is their drive to explore the world around them.

What better way to let students fully explore their mind's potential than with full access to technology.

Some students have access to computers at home, while others don't. I want equal access for all of them!

My Project

I am asking for 5 Chromebooks so that my students can both research current topics as well as create products (videos, Powerpoints, Prezi's, etc) to share what they have learned. Textbooks are often outdated and have old material. I want my students to realize that new information is being discovered right now.

I want my students to see that science is fresh, current and being tested at this very moment.

Only having access to books printed 7+ years ago gives the impression that science is fixed rather than constantly changing and being challenged. Letting them explore our topics on the web will let them see that science is vibrant and ever evolving.
