My students need a Aquos Board for a new way to interact with the material in a technology classroom that brings their learning into the 21st century along with the material they are learning.

My Students
Every day, my classroom is filled with students eager to learn. When my students walk into our class, they know that they should be prepared to learn by DOING. My electronics students build electronic circuits and analyze the properties of those circuits using professional techniques. My physics students design and execute labs and analyze their own and each others' data.
Our classroom is a place of escape; a place where we can come to explore the world of physics and electronics in ways normally inaccessible to my students.
A majority--almost 90%--of my students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunches and more than 90% of my students are African American or Latino/a. Many of them cannot imagine working as a professional in a technology-oriented field. Yet, when I watch them at work, I see electricians, researchers, writers, electrical engineers, software programmers, and lab technicians. My hope for them is that through our work they, too, will begin to see themselves in those roles.
My Project
Most classrooms today have moved beyond the old-fashioned overhead projectors, and for good reason. The advent of PCs and LCD projectors meant that teachers were no longer limited by transparency paper and static notes on a page. Lectures became more interactive for students, and more versatile for teachers.
It is time to make another shift in the way information is presented in the classroom.
The Sharp 70" Touchscreen display will move my electronics classroom firmly into the modern era. Not only will my students be able to manipulate virtual circuits by hand, but the display comes with the capability to wirelessly push whatever is on the screen to any device my students would like to use. It even goes a step further, allowing them to draw on the board in real time from their smartphones or other screens anywhere in the room!
