Help me give my students supplies for STEM learning. My students love to build using different STEM supplies, like Play-Doh and Legos. They also love to do coding activities like Scratch and Bloxels.
My 3rd graders are a unique and diverse group of students in a Title I school. Many receive free and reduced-price lunch. They are energetic and enthusiastic about learning. They are inquisitive and always searching for new ideas. Every day brings new joy and excitement as we collaborate and grow with each other.
As their teacher, it is my goal to open students' eyes to 21st Century Skills.
I want my students to leave my classroom with a strong understanding of STEM skills for their future learning and careers.
My Project
We need more STEM learning activities for students to further enhance their STEM capabilities, collaborate with each other, and practice 21st Century STEM skills.
Technology and STEM learning are so important to our students' futures.
Students will use Bloxels and the Scratch coding cards to practice coding, technology, and learn to create their own video games. In addition, students will use Play Doh and Legos to complete STEM challenges that require them to build models of different structures. We also will use the Gravity Maze to learn how to create different structures that allow a marble to move from one point to another. Students will have to use the design thinking process for all of these activities.
