My Project
We often don't realize the importance of technology in the art classroom or think that using technology in art-making will diminish the creative process. Not so!
The digital age makes everyone a storyteller.
Visual art is all about narratives and shared images. When students activate their ability to use 21st-century tools to vividly express narratives and communicate ideas, they learn to be curious, explore possibilities and use technology in new and expanded ways outside of the typical uses of social media and internet browsing. Technology becomes a useful and limitless tool for innovation and "thinking outside the box".
Something I love about BASIS Goodyear students is that they are open to new ideas and are so excited to learn in new ways. Having iPads and a charging cart in our classroom will broaden the way students consider the creative process and modes of communication.
Our classroom iPads will be dedicated to the art room. Students will create digital artwork, use digital portfolios (where they can store and access their projects), access our class art library, give and receive feedback and browse teacher-created files references.
Our long-term goal is to build our resources so that we can provide one iPad for each student to work in the art classroom.
As always, your generous support is so greatly appreciated and respected!
