This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
By the end of third grade I want my students to have a life-long love of reading and math. This technology will help to increase their excitement of learning.
This year I have twenty amazing third graders.
Every student at our school is on free or reduced price lunch and come from a low economic area in urban Phoenix. My class is 100% English language learners. They love to learn and are always excited to discover something new.
My Project
My students will use the ipad's various apps to help them work independently at their level and in small groups with the teacher. They will use literacy apps to help them with phonics, fluency and comprehension. They will use math apps to help with skills such as word problems, multiplication and division. We will use the ipad to watch videos available on apps.
If this project is funded, it will help my students become proficient with current technology.
It will show them how useful technology can be with their learning. It will also increase their engagement in reading and math. They will be excited to practice their math and reading skills!
More than half of students from low‑income households
