In just a few weeks, my classroom will be filled with 54 little inquirers ready to begin their first grade journey! These students come from many diverse backgrounds, but will come together as a "classroom family" to create a safe and secure environment, where they will all have the opportunity to thrive personally and academically.
As an International Baccalaureate school, our students learn and grow through a global lens.
Through the school year they will develop skills to become motivated learners, affective communicators, and positive contributing members of our community.
Each year I am humbled by the learners that walk through my doors, and the size of their hearts and minds.
My Project
We are hoping to receive four new iPads that will enrich our learning environment and support us as 21st century learners. Currently our classroom has 2 working iPads, donated to us in a previously funded donors choose project from 2015. The rest of the technology available in our classroom are 4 out-of-date, hand-me-down chrome books that are unreliable.
The four new iPads will promote literacy and math support in the classroom and allow students access to research databases that will enrich their learning experiences.
If our kiddos are expected to access and use technology in their future, we need to provide them with reliable access to technology in the classroom today.
