This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are 21st century learners who love being able to use different types of technology. The problem is that we do not have enough computers in our classroom. They would enjoy having the Chromebooks to use during Literacy and Math.

I am at a high poverty school where the students come from diverse backgrounds.

Many speak English as a second language and learning English can be very difficult for these kids! Many of my students' parents do not speak very much English and some of them speak no English at all. My students come to school everyday ready and eager to learn. Being able to extend their time on a computer, will help improve their learning of English through listening to stories, learning about letters and the sounds they make, and learning about numbers and shapes.

My Project

I am requesting 3 Chromebooks for my classroom. There are a variety of educational websites that my students can visit during literacy and math centers. The computers will help engage students and lead them to becoming independent learners. The Chromebooks will also expose them to the latest technology.

The Chromebooks will help to engage my students in reading and math activities.

Many of my students don't have access to computers at home, and they would be very excited to use the the new technology in the classroom. By using the Chromebooks in the classroom I hope to foster a life long love of learning in my students.
