21st Century Classroom

My Students

My students have a desire and are eager to learn with technology. They are more engaged in the learning process when technology is involved. Who wouldn't want their child to come to school everyday with the desire to learn to their fullest ability? I teach a total of 50 fifth graders in math and science. They come from various backgrounds and have a wide range of abilities. I would love to be able to diversify my teaching more with the use of technology.

My Project

My students have a wide range of abilities which would greatly benefit from the use of technology. Many need small group instruction with a differentiated classroom setting. I teach in small groups frequently and assign work through Google Classroom. This can be a struggle with having to rotate out our limited technology throughout the day. Our school is rapidly growing and with that, we are stretching our technology thin. The students have a desire to learn with technology, and I would like to be able to provide that for them.

My students will use these devices(Asus Chromebooks and MacBook with hard case covers) to write across the curriculum and to make connections to the real world.

I will be using them in small groups for differentiation. Students will also be able to utilize Google Classroom, Google Docs, Kahoot, Slides and various other apps to submit their work and research topics online.

This project will ensure that my students will be staying in tune with the changing world around them. Most of all, this project will keep the students engaged in their learning, which is by far what we all want for our students.
