My Project
With tight school budgets, these kitchen materials I'm requesting will help my students make the foods they will learn about in class. Students will use dish soap and towels to learn the proper way to wash dishes. They will also learn how to clean the ovens and microwaves properly for each kitchen. In this class, students will also be making many types of different foods so having a mixer, silverware, and measuring cups is essential to having the correct tools to complete a side dish, dessert, or meal. Students will learn about different types of food you put into a Crock Pot such as chili or soup. My students will learn all about life skills in the kitchen, safety, and how to appropriately use these materials. Our school includes over sixty percent of free or reduced-price lunch recipients.
Currently, I am teaching four sections of Food Enterprise classes at two different grade levels in our middle school.
For the last several years, our middle school has not offered these classes. Fortunately, now, our district is able to bring these classes back for our students which provides learning opportunities and to teach life skills in the kitchen.
My plan is to enhance their experience in the kitchen with the help of your donation. Our food lessons will incorporate reading, science, and math! Students will also learn kitchen safety and sanitation along with how to make simple snacks and meals. It is essential to provide our students with these learning opportunities to learn basic life skills in the kitchen. These learning experiences will leave a lasting impression on our students.
My students make tasty food for school and community events. This will be a great way to give back to our community. Thank you for investing in my classroom and my students!
