2024 School Wide Solar Eclipse Party!

Help me give my students a wonderful opportunity to experience first-hand a solar eclipse by using hands-on activities, including: chalk art, pin hole projectors, story walks, passport bracelets using regular and UV beads and thematic snacks.

My Project

These materials will give students an opportunity to fully experience and understand a solar eclipse. Our entire school and community will have a chance to do hands-on activities to help their understanding of what a solar eclipse is. We will be setting up stations all around our field. These stations will be supervised by our current 6th grade students, who have had training on teaching/leading the activities, as part of their science curriculum focuses on the mechanics of solar eclipses. This will further the sense of community we have in our school through a shared experience. Our students are very excited to be in charge of these stations and will get a real feel of responsibility and accomplishment from this.
