My Project
Last season, we relaunched OBOB at the middle school. It was a HUGE success! We had more than 25 students participating. Even students who weren't in OBOB were anxious to get their hands on the great books that their friends were reading.
Students are now asking questions about next season.
"Can we start reading now? Do we get to pick our teams? Can we read over the summer?" But the one that they have stumped me was, "Where are the books?"
This is a hard one as I put a lot out of pocket this last year. (Don't tell my husband.) I wanted to make sure that students had access to books in any format they needed and snacks to keep them energized after 4:00 pm.
Our top team went on to regionals and took 3rd place out of 23 teams. The other students cheered them on but now are ready to come back with a fury to read now and be ready to rock in the fall.
I need your help. The book list was launched but I don't have any copies yet. (Except one Unteachables from when I taught realistic fiction last fall.) I would love to keep the momentum going, recruit new kids in, and share in this experience now to keep kids in books all summer.
