This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Being a coach is a really meaningful job. We understand our students are just kids and they probably have their moments of frustration/disagreements, but seeing how much love, effort and patience they put into cheerleading makes us proud.
Our cheerleaders commitment and focus is truly amazing.
You can see how passionate and committed they are when they cheer and dance. Our students work together by giving each other positive support. We always start our cheerleading practice with a peace circle. This is the time when they can open up about problems they maybe experiencing. We as the coaches teach them coping skills to deal with everyday issues that may occur.
They put their ideas together in which becomes a genious of a plan. These students have changed by learning, to be helpful, kind, and gaining confidence by pushing themselves out of their comfort zone to grow and become better each day. We are extremely proud to see how happy they when they arrive at practice and the eagerness to learn a new dance or cheer.
The items we are requesting will help our cheerleaders with traveling for games/competitions and parades. Some of the parents are unable to afford to buy some of these items. I too couldn't afford items for my children when they were younger and wanted to be in all the activities at school. We are so thankful to have programs like this to help individuals in the time of need.
