This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This 2022 school year, I will continue to teach 2nd grade in a DI (Hmong dual immersion program) at Vang Pao Elementary School, in Fresno Unified School district. I will have 26 students this year. I am excited to start building them for success, starting with finding them the necessary classroom materials they will need.

Essential and complete beginning of the school year supplies will boost student confidence during their first weeks of schooling as well as provide them a warm welcome into a new classroom and environment.

My group of students are unique and super special due to the fact they will face twice the challenges compared to other 2nd grade (English only) classes. They are required to do all the work other non-DI students are doing, with 50% of the time and the other 50% will be in Hmong. This makes learning more challenging. However, we will cope and thrive in our classroom.
