Help me give my students the best Virtual Kindergarten Graduation that I can with their own 2020 Graduation Cap, a celebratory book, and a set of Play-doh.

My Students
My classroom is a general education classroom that consists of 70% English as a New Language Learners in Brooklyn, NY. We are a close knit group that enjoys learning together. Before the quarantine my students were making great gains with reading, writing, and speaking English. We often celebrated our achievements. Due to the current situation we are missing each other.
My students are eager to learn, and welcome every new learning experience with excitement and determination in spite of their challenges.
I utilize many different strategies and supports to help my students extract the most from each learning experience. Distance learning has been a challenge for all of us. Our hands-on learning materials are not available to us. Thus, since remote learning I have been working hard to make our lessons exciting and accessible to all my students. Many of the families of my students did not have wifi or an appropriate device for distance learning. We are now at 100% attendance and each child is so excited to see one another, but they miss school. Even so school is not the same.
My Project
My students deserve to have the very best graduation experience. I want them to know how significant the milestone of moving on to first grade is. By providing the materials I selected they will be able to see how important they are in spite of our current situation.
By providing these materials my students will know they are valued and celebrated by myself and their families.
First, they will wear the Graduation cap during our virtual graduation. Second, the book, "Maybe: A Story About the Endless Potential in All of Us" inspires wonder and self-belief which is something I try to instill in my students. I want to leave an indelible belief that nothing is out of reach for them. This book will be a keepsake for them which they can share with their siblings and possibly their own children one day. Lastly, Play-doh was the favorite activity during Choice Time. They used it to create animals, pizza, cookies and cupcakes. I also used it to form letters and numbers for some students that needed extra support.
These materials will provide the message that we are still a classroom family with memories and growth that will continue after June 26th. Thank you in advance for your generosity and taking the time to consider my 2020 Kindergarten Graduation Project. Your donations will allow their virtual graduation to be a success and create excitement about becoming a 1st grader for each of the students in my class.
