My Students
My students attend one of the more ethnically diverse schools in Philadelphia. 100% of our students receive free lunch. 23 percent of the school's population are special needs students. About 20 percent of the student body are English Language Learners. These students speak a multitude of languages including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Chinese, and Arabic.
Most of my students are visual learners whom I want to be excited about science, specifically Chemistry.
These supplies will help bring excitement into my classroom by using hands on activities to help increase STEM initiatives in the school.
My Project
Chemistry has been constantly changing. To keep my students up-to-date with the newest evolution of Chemistry our classroom requests an updated periodic table. Additional basic supplies of rulers, scotch tape, and paper are also included in this project as the school district has come on hard financial times.
My students can succeed to be productive contributors to society if they are provided with the appropriate supplies to further their understanding and enjoyment of STEM learning.
I am also requesting Phenol Red and lead shot along with some other chemical supplies to restock the consumables used throughout the year. The technology request is of 2 laser presenters to help teach as I circulate throughout the classroom.
Please consider finding this project to pay for balances and basic supplies that are not provided to my low-income students.
