This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Help discover the next Steven Spielberg or Spike Lee. Have a part in training the next Bryant Gumbel or Heidi Collins. Provide the means to film the next great documentary or heart-warming romance. Be the sponsor of the next Saturday Night Live.

Provide underprivileged inner city students with the tools necessary to do this and more in a Film and Video class for 6th and 7th graders. The excited cast and crew will learn about news casting, special effects and green screening techniques, broadcast etiquette, writing for film and video, audio/video editing, and more! Students will have the opportunity to be *STARS* in their community through web casting to parents and family members, broadcasting to students in prerecorded and live formats, investigating pressing issues firsthand, and writing and creating their own independent films.
Lights, camera, LEARNING!
We need three things to make this happen, and you can help! Right now, we will start our studio with a camera, a tripod and a microphone. But these things can be a bit pricey, and like many inner city schools, we have been faced with the obstacle of budget reductions and cutting of extracurricular opportunities.
That's where you come in!
Your donations will help student to follow their dreams and learn about how to read cue cards, cut to camera 1, and build an absorbing film. Your monetary support can provide the current class of students with a very unique opportunity to build these skills EARLY, giving them a head start on going to colleges for video production, directing or writing for film, acting, and speech communications. Your kindness will ensure that future generations of students have these same opportunities. You will make it possible for this cast of students to take hold of their creative powers and guide them to success. And maybe one day, we'll make a movie about you.
