My students need one digital camera, one all-in-one printer, and ink.

This project is fully funded

I teach 1st grade students at a title I school. Most of my students have never had an opportunity to use technology outside the classroom.

My students love to read, write and illustrate their own books. They share their books with other students in my class and school. They also take them home to share with their families.

I would use the digital camera and printer so that my students can publish books. They will be able to create book by typing their stories. They will be able to illustrate their stories by uploading pictures or scanning pictures into their books. Once their book is complete they will be able to print the book for classmates/peers to read. Learning to read and write is a huge part of 1st grade, and by making it fun for the students I believe they will excel!

Many of my students do not have digital cameras, computers or printers in their homes. They would be able to create books at school and they could take them home to share with their parents and siblings. I want my students to enjoy and love reading and writing and I believe that having the technology available in the classroom will empower them to use their imagination and practice their reading and writing skills daily, in a fun way!
