My Students

We are an active, compassionate and inquisitive second grade class in a Title I school, IB School.

We strive to be lifelong learners who are learning to understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right. We are the only IB Elementary School in Central Florida. Although we are IB, we receive pubic school funding, no private funding. Our parents struggle to meet the basic needs of their families. Additionally, this is an inclusion classroom. Therefore, we have many different learning levels and different styles of learning. Most of our students are in need both academically and with respect to materials. We are working hard to reach our goals and to improve.

My Project

Calendar Math is a center in which my students can practice a variety of essential math skills every day! We will use it daily to build math fluency and to help my inclusion students learn foundational math skills, which they are currently lacking. My students can also use the Calendar Math Center in small groups and during centers, to complete various activities. The timer will be helpful for them to use when they go to computers ~ this will ensure they are on for their allotted time and can switch without the teacher having to remind them. Independence is the key!

With this Calendar Math, my students will practice their much needed skills every day.

They will learn foundational math skills as well as develop fluency and knowledge. With your donation you are helping my little ones to be great every day, you are being the change you wish to see in the world!
