My Students
Do you remember what it was like the first time you created your first painting? It filled you with pride and wonder. That is what I would like for my art students. They just created their first paintings of the year using old watercolor sets with most of the colors used up. Please help us.
My art students are wonderful.
They are excited about learning and love to create. They amaze me every day with their creativity. My students are a great group of children that want to learn about painting. I teach art to kindergarten through fifth grade students. My little artists include special needs students and ESOL students. The theme for the paintings will be "People and Nature".
Last year students learned about several painting basics and this year is the year students will learn how to paint using even more techniques as they paint with watercolors, tempera and acrylic paint. They will blend new colors, learn about different painting techniques great artists have used from all over the world.
Our theme "People and Nature" will focus on our everyday choices to make the world a better place for people and nature while celebrating nature. From recycling, composting to using a re-usable bottle vs. a plastic one use bottle. These paintings will impact our school and community.
My Project
Students will learn about various brush strokes, how to blend colors, how to mix primary colors to make secondary colors, like the famous "blue and yellow make green". It's magical to them!
These "People and Nature" paintings will help students see first hand how just one extra drop of water dramatically changes how paint reacts on paper. They will also see how layering colors can help create a new color and the "wow factor" of colors. My art students will learn about composition and continue developing their knowledge of the Elements of Art through painting.
I am requesting three different paints: watercolor paint, tempera paint and acrylic paint. I am also requesting small containers and lids to extend the life of the paint, paintbrushes, canvas boards, aprons, and sponges for a quick clean up.
These valued paints and painting supplies will be cared for and students will share them. Taking care of our art supplies is made fun with songs and games.
As an art teacher, I get to share amazing art projects with my creative, ambitious and active students.
I teach all K-5 students at my school. Your donation will make this school year's "People and Nature" painting projects possible and impact my art students, not just for this school year, but for years to come. Hundreds of students will benefit from your kindness.
I believe these paints and painting supplies will help make the subject of caring for our environment come to life.
Thank you!
