I work in an inner-city school where most of my students come from low-income households. The neighborhoods where my students are from surround them with poverty and still my students come to school ready to learn. Their little minds are still full of wonder and curiosity and want to explore as much as possible.
My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions!
They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects, and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically.
My Project
When COVID-19 forced our school to go remote almost two years ago things changed very quickly. One thing I wanted to remain the same for my students was the option to use math manipulatives as tools while completing their math work. In order to insure my students had this option I gave my students last year and two years ago bundles of math manipulatives to use at home during remote learning.
As a result of this, all of my math manipulatives have been exhausted and my current in person class has no linking cubes, or base ten blocks.
Your donation to this project will allow my current students the opportunity to have proper math manipulatives as my former classes did.
