My Students
I teach in a township school of Indianapolis, IN. Many of my students are living in poverty and rely on school to take their mind off of the home situations that are out of their control. Our school does not have any funding for the classroom to help with student success. So it is up to me as the teacher to make sure students are getting the learning they deserve. I love donors choose as it gives me the opportunity to heighten their learning.
My Project
My students learn how to appropriately take blood pressure on each other using blood pressure cuffs. They learn the importance of know this number and what they can do to stay around the target zone of 120/80. We continually have to borrow them from Science and they are getting fragile.
It would be great to continue teaching the students about blood pressure and how they can test this themselves.
Many students do not go to the doctor therefore will never know their blood pressure unless they can test it. They can also use this information to go home and test their family members.
