My Project
A while back, our school was donated 2 12 x 6 soccer nets that I just found as a new teacher in the back of a closet this summer. I was so excited to be able to use them and then one of the nets were missing 2 key parts, and now it cannot be set up. It would be great to have full soccer games with 2 nets but our school needs one more in order for that to work!
This past year and heading into this year, our school has welcomed dozens and dozens of newcomer students.
Many of these students are from another country, speak another language, and were going through the struggles of adapting to a new country and school. One thing that got them going and involved with the rest of the school was soccer. They had so much fun playing in PE and recess. I commend them for using the little materials that we had, but to get them excited for the new school year, I would love to have that second net for them to use! This will also be the first year since I've been here where we will have sports teams to compete against other CPS schools. Boys' soccer will be going on in the fall and girl's season will be in spring. This would be great for us to have to practice for the upcoming seasons.
