Good morning, good afternoon & good evening, Donors!
For the upcoming year, students will be relying on many virtual programs; however, upon returning to the physical building, due to health codes & budget constraints, it will be impossible to provide them with 1:1 devices.
I am a 5th grade teacher involved in the academic community at a K-5 school located in the downtown Miami area. As a Title I school, we serve primarily underprivileged students & families. It is with this in mind that I am reaching out to you for help!
The 2019-20 school year was definitely one of the most interesting experiences in my career, and it is with similar uncertainty that we are now entering the 2020-21 school year. As COVID-19 positivity rates in my area currently fall below the 10% threshold, schools will surely re-open for "brick & mortar" services in the very near future. Providing my students with these devices on campus would make a world of difference.
I am seeking to purchase 10 tablets for my class to be able to allow my students to work on virtual programs.

My Project
These tablets will provide my students with the opportunity to use technology in the classroom during a school year that might otherwise prevent us from accessing our school-wide technological resources (ie: laptops, computer lab, etc.) due to sanitation requirements.
Should we return to the classroom (looks more likely each day), it will be impossible for students to access the very digital resources that have been acquired by teachers and schools to aid in educating our students during these uncertain times over the past several months.
Please help me provide my students with the ability to utilize the digital programs that I have already purchased out of my own pocket in order to further aid in the virtual learning process. These will be impossible for students to utilize during school hours without proper access to technological devices. Being able to provide these on a 1:1 basis would eliminate all of the issues associated with the need to decontaminate between uses that are effectively preventing students from using school-wide technological resources.
