My Students

I love science, and my goal is to help my students learn more about science not just from textbooks, but from authentic stories and experiences. My students are high school seniors taking an elective zoology course to learn more about animals. Topics include conservation and endangered species, speciation and animal behavior.

Students with various cultural and academic backgrounds and interests come together to learn about the animal kingdom and the human influence on the animal world.

My students are curious to learn about science in their backyard and around the world. Their curiosity and desire to make a difference in the world is the reason I pursue authentic stories to share.

My Project

 This book highlights various conservation methods used with endangered species.  This book will serve as a resource for units on conservation biology and endangered species.

I want my students to see the numerous examples of animals that require human intervention and to see the ways our global community is working to conserve our Earth.

As our students graduate and enter the 'real world', I want them to be aware of their impact and how they are able to contribute to saving our endangered species. By exploring these topics in high school, students gain the knowledge and self-efficacy necessary to spread the message of conservation to the community.
