Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are wonderful kids that are eager to be challenged and inspired. They are a very diverse population in a low income area. Our school is located in a neighborhood that is low income. Our school does not have resources to provide to our classrooms. We have a supportive school community due to the fact we are a charter school. However, resources are limited as they are at most public schools. My students are very diverse! I have 19 students and 12 boys. My class is very active. To keep these busy minds challenged and motivated, my students will need classroom materials to help them succeed in 2nd grade. I want to grow lifelong learners, readers and leaders.
My Project
We are requesting some 100 days materials such as hats, pencils, and even water bottles that our students can color and design themselves. We are also requesting some tropical trophies for the end of the year awards.
Help motivate and inspire our readers and writers with some reading and writing rewards!
Some of the materials are bulletin board sets that will show our different Reading comprehension strategies, as well as Reading Genre categories.
The cute bulletin board sets are usually pricey for teachers. However, with the help of a generous parent in our class, we will be able to display some themed boards showcasing student work. Thank you for your support!
