My Students
My students are from a rural, low income community. They face many challenges by lacking real world experiences. Many of my students have never traveled far away from home to experience what this world has to offer.
My kids come from financially strapped homes, but have huge hearts with great potential because they are energetic and eager to learn.
I want to give these students some of the experiences they can't get at home through a learning lens inside the classroom.
My Project
I have chosen highly sought after books that will help promote learning and engage students. My students could really benefit from an updated classroom library. I want these books to help benefit all of my students and students to come. I have compiled a variety of genres and styles to grab the attention of even my most stubborn readers.
The only way to read is to be passionate about what you're reading.
I want them to become better readers and the only way to become better is through practice. Practice makes perfect!
I love to read now, but I can remember being a stubborn reader because I lacked interest in books that were available. I don't want this for my students. Reading is the key to unlock many pathways for them, and I want them to have as many doorways as possible.
