My students need a Harry Potter book set. They've been begging me for more books and I want something of substance that will help their imagination soar. We also need supplies to help us finish strong!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I will be teaching English Language Arts this year in an effort to bring my creativity and passion about education to my students in the South Bronx. My students may not always have the best home lives and may not always have the resources they need, but I want to make absolutely sure that they always feel supported in their classroom when they're with me.
I want to facilitate a growth mindset and a love for learning, reading, and writing.
My students are going to feel comfortable making mistakes, sharing their mistakes with others, and learning from those mistakes. I want to do everything in my power to make sure they have the best education they can this year and every year, and that they constantly feel loved and listened to.
My Project
My students have been begging me for books and I've noticed a huge, important set missing: Harry Potter! I have students that absolutely would love to read something so wonderful, and I'd love them to share a love of great books.
I want to do everything in my power to make sure my students have what they need to be successful in their academic career.
As a new teacher, I noticed a few things missing in my classroom that I didn't even know I needed. More paper organizers, tape, more markers, etc. These things will really help ME help my students. I'll be able to create more charts to support them, help them take more notes on post-its, and more.
I want to be the best I can be and I want my students to also be their best. I can do that better with more everyday supplies. Thank you so much for everything you have done to help this classroom in need. We appreciate you all so very much!
