Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a classroom of 18 eager to learn first grade students. They are energetic and enthusiastic and I have been looking for dynamic ways to foster their love of learning in new and exciting ways.
These Chromebooks will allow me to open up a new world of learning with educational technology that would not be possible otherwise.
My group of 6 and 7 year old students have been introduced to educational technology and district mandate program. I teach at the Title 1 school where over 90 % of students get reduced and free lunch. Also my students are come from the home where English is not their first language.
My Project
These Chromebooks will aid in my implementation of literacy and math centers as well as mandatory district program. I would love to create a station where my students engage in literacy and math centers using the Chromebooks 45 minutes weekly.
As a first grade teacher, I have also realized the need for technology in my classroom.
With the rigorous structure of the Common Core standards, I have students who struggle to meet these expectations. I believe that with the addition of Chromebooks, I will able to add a new level of differentiation to my classroom that will help all my students, with and without special needs, meet the expectations of the common core specifically in reading, and math.
