Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach K-2nd grade Special Education in a Title I school. I will have returning students who will need to learn and work on higher math skills because they worked really hard last year with learning their basic skills.
My returning students need new math manipulatives and resources to provide them with higher math concepts.
They are eager learners who want to get their hands on manipulatives to help them learn and have fun. They have been working hard on learning and mastering their basic math skills so they need new and different material to continue learning the next math skills. My students learn their skills through hands on learning and manipulation of objects. They enjoy using the manipulatives because it makes it fun for them to learn having tangible items to count, sort, and pattern. They also get to work on their fine motor skills and cognitive thinking skills as they manipulate the objects for the concepts they are learning. Your donations will give our classroom math manipulatives and activities to learn number sense, patterns, money, geometry, and basic skills. I will be able to change and rotate the material so that the students can use different activities.
