My Students

My students are enthusiastic and curious about everything, including the spider on the floor, the letter B, and how the pencil sharpener works. They come from more than eight different linguistic and cultural backgrounds and include students with special needs and students who have experienced trauma.

Many of my students' parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, cousins, aunties, and uncles have all attended our neighborhood school and you can feel love and a strong sense of community throughout the building.

Within our diverse school family, one of the things my students are most excited about is each other. They love to learn and play together and our school day is filled with giggles, questions, tinkering, dancing, and conversations. It is a joy and a privilege to get to learn and grow with these amazing humans every day.

My Project

Puzzles are amazing learning tools that my students LOVE every year. They encourage 3D and spatial reasoning. They require problem-solving. And they are fun!

Letters and numbers can be challenging to learn but puzzles give my students a chance to explore the letters in numbers in 3D.

They get to move them and turn them and explore them. It gives them a chance to think, "Is this a 6 or a 9?" "What happens when I turn this letter p upside down?"

These various letter and number puzzles will bring joy to my students while challenging them to think more deeply about what letters and numbers look like.
