Help me give my students a factual, non-biased, and age appropriate understanding of current civics. Current events can be overwhelming to children. Scholastic News is a weekly newspaper helping children make sense of newsworthy events happening around them.

My Students
I have 25 amazing, inquisitive, and eager to learn students. They are curious and always striving for new knowledge. It is because of them our classroom has an energetic, positive atmosphere that encourages all to work hard, learn, and improve even when the material is not easy.
They demonstrate excellence and are willing to share their understandings with others.
After 30 years of teaching, I am still in love with my profession because of these imaginative students who are the future of our world.
My Project
Scholastic news is a cross-curricular news magazine that covers current events using, factual, non-biased, age appropriate articles for students.
Students will learn and grow as readers while they are learning about events that are shaping our world.
Appropriate language and facts will help students make sense of what they hear happening at home and could be a great springboard for school and family conversations.
The election will be a hot topic and my students will have knowledge to understand what is happening. A great advantage for growth in civics.
I am asking for a class set of subscriptions to this magazine. The subscription includes video clips to set the stage for discussions, support materials enhance curriculim learning, and a weekly magazine for each child to take home and share as well as distance learning support.
