Video Lab For English Language Learners

My project needs 2 TV/VCR/DVD players for a multimedia lab I am creating for my ESL class.

I am an ESL teacher at Horizon Academy in New York City. We are a part of the New York City Public School system. All of my students are currently incarcerated on Rikers Island. We have had a great year so far. I have a large group of students, and they come to my classroom in the morning thirsty for whatever knowledge I can provide for them. My students are between the ages of 18-21. This school is probably the last chance they will have at a free public education. Many of my students never finished 6th grade. Many of them are reading at a 4th grade level or below. Every minute I have with these students counts. Our school has a wonderful video library, with hundreds of titles. Unfortunately, we only have two TVs for the entire school. My plan for this year is to install a video lab in my classroom, and house relevant videos in my class. Students will be able to use a workshop style class to select and watch videos while working on comprehension or reflection-writing dealing with the topic being watched. I would like two TV/VCR/DVD sets set up in my room, so that a group of students could use them with headphones, and work at their own pace, while others are engaged at other multimedia stations (audio and computer). Any contribution for this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for you help.
