My Students
Do you remember how certain things in science confused you because they were too microscopic or too grand in scale?
I teach 8th grade General Science in a suburban middle school to my regular students and an Earth Science Regents course to my advanced classes.
I also teach an inclusion class collaboratively with another teacher to help our students make progress in science.
My Project
I am requesting interactive lesson plans for the Smartboard to use in my classroom, along with my current lesson plans in the teaching of genetics. It is essential to show visual representations to students in science, especially when the science involves concepts on a cellular level. Multimedia is a great resource for teachers to have since our students are so much more technologically literate. With the interactive lessons, students will also be able to manipulate the visuals through the Smartboard.
I hope to provide a better way of showing my students how cells divide and how they contribute to the the inheritance of human traits.
My students really enjoy learning genetics because there are so many real life applications. I hope that the materials I requested will really help them visualize these abstract concepts.
