This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many of my students come to my school as freshmen who have never had a science class. I want them to love and enjoy science through books with incredible pictures and quick fun facts to engage them.

My students come from in an impoverished inner NYC area.

We are a title one school. They are incredible students who despite their hard economical situations are still extremely motivated. Many of my students are several grade levels behind, however, these supplies will help them learn about science in a visual manner that they are able to understand.

My Project

These materials will help my students learn about science and help them to prepare for the NYS Living Environment Regents. Also, having many of these books and games in the classroom will be a constant supplement of the important information they need to know and understand.

I teach many wonderful students, but they struggle with many science topics.

Despite living in poverty, they deserve to have these science materials that will help them to understand these concepts and be successful in school, science and life. I believe in my students and hope you believe in them also.
