Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
A computer does what? Most of my students only get to touch and experience a computer at school. In order for my students to compete with students who have more experiences, they must have more experiences! A SMART Board makes us more SMART!
I teach at a Title I school in a large public school district in Texas.
Howdy y'all! Inquisitive, questioning, curious, probing...in a few words describe my students. Often times their questions lead us on a journey of discovery. And I like it that way. I sometimes do not know the answer and I share that with them. The learning starts when we journey together. Now that's what I call learning!
My Project
Imagine being a six year old and being able to touch the board and poof! The image is moved and you are able to manipulate the things and activities on the board. Amazing! I am requesting learning activities for use with the SMART Board. We will be able to first learn the objectives in the traditional way, then review them on the SMART Board, ultimately having a "friendly" competition. The clips will help the class monitor the progress and the competition.
This project is important and necessary to my students and I because it levels the playing field so to speak.
It allows and affords them the opportunity to engage in learning and utilizing technology that they may never otherwise use.
