I teach music to students in kindergarten, first grade and second grade. I feel very strongly that the fine arts play a very important role in subjects such as reading and math. However, in many cases, these are the first classes to be cut. If they are not cut, they are the last classes to receive adequate funding. My students have been able to move from records to tapes and even CDs. But, with all of the technological advances available today, we still feel left in the dark ages. Searching for songs on a tape can become very time consuming. Once a CD is scratched, it is almost impossible to fix.
An IPOD with a docking station would virtually eliminate these two problems and be very beneficial in other ways. For example, an IPOD would help me have all of my music organized and in one location. I could find a song with just the touch of a button! I will be able to take my entire library of music wherever I go, instead of several different CDs and a CD player.
An IPOD would be very beneficial to the students for several reasons. They would be able to sing with music that has a pure sound. They would also be able to spend more time singing and playing instruments. During their performances, they will sound more professional! An IPOD can also be used by a student individually who needs extra work on a song or a skill.
