My students need a Multimedia Projector for their participation in their IEP meetings to present the goals they have set for themselves.

My Students
Each of my students has an IEP and face challenges academically. They have chosen to become active contributors in their IEP meeting and present the goals they have set for themselves to the IEP team. They want to be active contributors in the process and you can help them with this wonderful gift!
My students attend a Baltimore City Charter School.
We are also a Title 1 school. Many of our students come from under privileged homes. The students that I teach all have IEP's (Individual Education Plans) and face even more challenges because of this.
My Project
We are requesting a projector for use during our student's IEP meetings. Too many times, students are invited to their IEP meeting, where a group of professionals sit around and discuss what they (the student) needs without really consulting the child to ask what THEY think they need. In my school, the child plays an active role in the planning process of their IEP. Each child creates a presentation (power point) for their meeting, which contains their goals, hopes and dreams, Strengths, weaknesses and accommodations that they feel can benefit them in the classroom. This helps our students to take ownership and also play an active role in their meeting. My students are very excited about this and want to do the best job they can. If we were to have a projector, the student could project their project on to a screen for ALL members of the meeting to see.
This project will help my students present their presentations to the IEP team and be an active contributor in their IEP process.
This will also help my students to become strong presenters and gain confidence in presenting to the public.
