My students need a 55 gallon barrels aquaculture system and 300 watt heater to meet the needs of teaching agriscience curriculum, while adding hands on learning about water quality.

My Students
With budget cuts in our local school system, we are unable to buy resources to enable us to learn by doing. This project will give students a chance to build an aquaculture system and learn about the endless career opportunities in agriculture, water quality, and experience hands on learning.
We are the most diverse school in one of the largest school systems in North Carolina.
Our students are in grades 9 through 12, and many are on the free and reduced lunch program. The students and their parents are financially unable to supply any extra learning aids. We have a very unique school community with 29 different nationalities represented, allowing students to embrace diversity and challenge. Most students are willing to learn, and enjoy learning by hands on activities. Students in my classes explore the endless possibilities of careers and leadership.
My Project
These resources will engage students in learning by doing. It will encourage team work, work ethic, leadership, responsibility, and hopefully teach students the importance of protecting our natural resources. Students may also gin an interest in a career as a result of receiving these resources.
Much broader than teaching responsibility, leadership, and natural resources, your gift will inspire students to help others.
It will show them that there are people who care about them, and that they too if given the opportunity to help others that they should. I know that the students will appreciate the donation, as I will too.
