My students need assorted workbooks that I can use to give out and make problems, plus paper and expo markers.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. R.'s classroom raised $916

My Students
Coming into the classroom an average of two years behind their peers is pretty bad, but when you add not having any sort of textbook that they can take home OR Internet access at home to help look up problems, it's pretty hard to catch up.
My students attend a low income high school in Nashville, Tennessee.
Students have no math textbooks to take home, and due to funding issues the school has placed a limit on the number of copies that can be made. This means that my students - who have plenty of potential but come to me an average of nearly 3 years behind grade level in math - have almost no way of catching up. They can't read the book, and they can't go home and look online if they have questions. I give all of them my cell phone number and let them call until 9pm, but many need to be spending a lot more quality time with workbooks that they can take home.
My Project
I am requesting a replacement for our lack of paper and textbooks - paper to make copies, expo markers so that students can work on miniature white boards (we won't do this every day, but it's great for a change of pace to have each student flash their answer at the teacher), and a variety of workbooks that I can distribute and make copies from.
Without books, students frequently have only a single worksheet of homework to connect them to what we're doing in class.
In order for us to catch up, I need to be able to SATURATE them with math both inside and outside the classroom. This project will be an important step helping us catch up!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
