My Students
Have you ever tried to listen to quiet classical music while driving in a car? My students have that same feeling while in my class and would love to be able to HEAR the music that I play for them!
My 580 students (K-8) will most likely be the first person in their family to attend college.
While they are extremely musical, very few families can actually afford to attend concerts, buy Cds, or take piano or vocal lessons. We are a California charter school that received the Title I Academic Award last year, meaning we DOUBLED our API over the past two years!
My Project
This project requests a Bose® - CineMate® Series II Digital Home Theater Speaker System. Currently my students listen to music through small, external computer speakers! Being able to truly hear the music will enable my younger students to "feel" the beat and my middle school students to understand the concepts that we are learning all about in class.
I strive everyday to instill in my students the same love of music that I have, yet I am unable to even play a recording for them that they can actually hear!
More than likely, my students have never heard music through a high-quality sound system. It is hard for my students in Music Appreciation class to appreciate something that they cannot hear!
