One Laptop Can Make a Difference!

My students need a laptop for the classroom so they can do research, give multimedia presentations, listen to audio clips and view video clips.

My Students

The laptops teachers once had access to at our school were taken from us this year because our school could not pay off the lease. Help my students get the technology they need and deserve back in the classroom.

My students are juniors in high school.

They are special education, regular and honors students who are working towards our school's one word mission, "college". They attend a public school in a big city in Illinois where resources are not always available but the drive to succeed is.

My Project

A laptop for use in the classroom would allow students to present multimedia presentations that they prepare in our computer lab. Along with a borrowed projector (we have 2 available for sign out), students can become familiar and comfortable with this technology so that they are equipped to use it in high school and beyond. Students will also benefit from the presentations I will be able to give. I will be able to project video clips and play audio clips to accompany our readings. I can project endless internet resources to share with the class so that they have visuals to go along with lectures. With a laptop in the classroom, students will learn, not only to use the technology themselves, but my instruction will be more dynamic resulting in enhanced learning on a day-to-day basis.

Your support for this project will bring my students a step closer to understanding and benefiting from having basic technology in the classroom.

They deserve to have the same experiences and same resources as other students in other schools and will greatly appreciate the return of a laptop in their classroom.
