My students need supplies for creating interactive math notebooks, interacting with the content in unique ways and making connections across topics along the way.

My Students
William Butler Yeats said "education is not filling a bucket, it's lighting a fire." It can be difficult to get student's "fires" lit when it comes to math. Using interactive notebooks gives students the opportunity to use their creativity in math class, which helps to get excited about content.
My students are diverse learners.
They live in suburban or rural settings and come from a wide variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. Many of them can't, or won't, buy extra supplies like colored pencils or glue sticks. They view math as something that needs to be memorized and not as an area where they can exercise their creativity.
My Project
These resources will allow us to us creativity in mathematics. With interactive notebooks, students create their own textbook, including diagrams, examples, and vocabulary. Students can create graphic organizers and foldables to help them learn mathematics content, engaging visual and kinesthetic learners in a way a worksheet or traditional text just can't. Students make their own meaning out of mathematics and draw their own connections. Every student makes a notebook, so every student is engaged in note taking every day, not a result you often get with traditional note taking and practice strategies.
By donating to this project you're purchasing the supplies that make this sort of activity in the math classroom possible.
You make math class more engaging and exciting for students, and you help students to realize math is not just a dry, boring topic that they can never master.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
